Pining For Change

I have a BS in Psychology from Campbell University. I worked as a detective for many years specializing in cases involving children and women as victims but felt there was more in how the vicitims become survivors. I then volunteered my time to speak around the community and outside for prevention of future crimes and to give the public some peace of mind educating them to empower their actions to help those around them. I left law enforcement to take a contract to train the Iraqi police in Baghdad. I myself became a survivor of the war in Iraq and learned many techniques in helping those with PTSD through my own tramatic experiences. I have also worked as a Sexual Abuse Advocate for survivors when they reported to the hospital. I believe in advocacy and feel that to become a survivor, you need to be able to express and mourn the experience to not only desensitize your thoughts to it but also to release the feelings of lack of control. The most recent years I became a background investigator to the government and found so many soldiers that I interviewed in fear of retaliation and misunderstood going through PTSD. I found myself counseling them during the interviews and trying to get them to go see someone. I never thought at that time that I would be the person to see. I finished my training in life coaching through Tony Robbins courses "Robbins-Madanes" teachings and left the background investigations to actually fulfill my life's purpose in giving back and helping others. I hope you see some of my background as a platform for trust that I can help you too.
